A warrant sweep conducted by multiple state agencies into trafficking and distribution of methamphetamine netted charges against nearly 50 people in Duncan on Friday.

The investigation which lasted approximately nine months was carried out by the District Attorney’s Drug and Violent Crime task force. The investigation led to the filing of charges against 48 people.

Nearly 40 arrest warrants were served on Friday in Stephens County for people selling a variety of drugs including meth, prescription pills and marijuana.

“The distribution and trafficking of methamphetamine are epidemics in this State and my staff and I will continue to work at ridding our area of this poison. We have no tolerance and will do what we can to incarcerate those who are selling and trafficking methamphetamine in the area,” said district attorney Jason Hicks.

Agencies involved in the sweep included the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Duncan and Marlow Police, US Marshals, District 6 DA's Drug Task Force, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and HUD.
