Norman Police Believe Man Stabbed Woman To Death Before Suicide

Police said they're learning more about a murder suicide Sunday in a quiet Norman neighborhood. 

Police said a 911 call a little after 3 p.m. Sunday led them to 3417 Madra Street. Neighbors said what appeared to be a property dispute between a man in his early 20's and a woman in her early 20's escalated. Police said the man stabbed the woman several times and killed her, before turning the knife on himself. 

Gene Rhoden lives in a home across the street. “I just heard police shouting as they were trying to enter the residence, and they had their guns drawn in the entry way was they were entering the residence,” he said.

Police Capt. Tom Easley said police may release more about what happened, as well as the two people's names, on Tuesday.
