OKC Energy FC forward Danni König has been named the USL Player of the Week, the league office announced today. The honor is the first for the Danish forward and comes following Energy FC's 2-1 win over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

König's first goal of the season came in the 35th minute after Chuy Sanchez's initial shot hit the crossbar, hit the line without going across and König was there to put home the rebound.

König has several additional opportunities to find the back of the net during the contest, including three chances in the final 15 minutes. With just one minute remaining in stoppage time, Michael Thomas' header found König's foot for his second goal of the match and secured the 2-1 win for Energy FC.

Edmond native and former Deer Creek High School standout Shawn McLaws also earned a spot on the team of the week after a strong defensive performance and scoring his first professional goal in a 4-1 New York Red Bulls II win over Toronto FC II.

Energy FC returns to action on Saturday, April 18 against the Seattle Sounders 2 at historic Taft Stadium.
