An Elgin man wanted on warrants related to a 2014 death was taken into custody in Louisiana, Monday night.

OSBI agents had warrants filed on Donovan Dixon for second degree manslaughter and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

Authorities said Dixon injected Chester Morris III with methamphetamine after Morris had already passed out from an earlier injection of heroine.

Morris died inside an Elgin apartment bathtub August 6, 2014, after the injections.

Two other people implicated in the case have already been arrested. Mike Ball was arrested on a warrant for second degree manslaughter and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Cynthia Carlisle was arrested as a material witness.

Comanche County Sheriff Deputies are transporting Dixon from Lafayette Parish Louisiana where he was arrested. Dixon will be booked into the Comanche County Jail.
