5 Injured In Head-On Crash On Highway 39 In Purcell

PURCELL, Oklahoma -

Five people were transported to the hospital after a head-on collision on State Highway 39 in Purcell, Okla., Tuesday night.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), a white car and a red SUV were involved in the crash on highway 39, near Sooner Ave. The white car was only occupied by the driver. The red SUV had an adult male driver and three juvenile passengers.

Two of the juveniles were transported from the scene by private vehicle to a local hospital.

Both adult drivers and one of the other juveniles in the SUV had to be extricated from the vehicle. Those three were all flown from the scene by helicopter to OU Medical Center. The conditions and identities of all five victims are not known at this time.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
