A district spokesperson said other students told administrators on Friday Jones had been selling marijuana to classmates.

The district said Jones tried to run away to his vehicle while he was being questioned. Police caught him.

While they searched his vehicle, they said they found pot and a handgun.

Rebekah Wheeler is a sophomore at the school, and said the lockdown was tense. “We hid underneath our desks and our teachers barricaded the doors,” she said.

Phillip Colton Jones has been automatically suspended from school.
