A would-be robber pistol whipped a convenience store clerk at the Best Stop Food Mart.

Lien Nguyen, 70, fought back by throwing beer at the female suspect, described as a 30-year-old black female disguising herself with a black ball cap.

"Honey, I'm 70-year-old already.. die today.. or tomorrow," she said fearlessly.

According to an Oklahoma City police report, the robber demanded cash from the store located in the 2300 block of South Central on Sunday.

"'Give me money. Give me all your money. If not, I shoot you. I kill you,' and she keep saying that," Nguyen recalled.

Nguyen said she told the woman she didn't have any money, and the robber threatened to kill her.

"I said, 'Honey, you want to shoot me, go ahead to shoot me, okay.. you think you kill me and you will have money, you're wrong," Nguyen said.

The would-be robber struck Nguyen in the head and shoulder. The bruises were still visible three days after the attack.

Nguyen warned the robber of the possible repercussions for her actions.

"I told her, 'You think you do that, but you young. If you get caught, you be in prison a long time,'" Nguyen said.

Reasoning with the robber didn't get Nguyen very far, and with no weapon to protect herself, she ended up throwing a case of beer at the robber.

The robber gave up at that point and ran from the store.

"I really didn't know what was going on at first, and then I seen that gun and then she took off running," Tony Garcia, a regular customer who witnessed the incident, explained he unsuccessfully chased after the suspect.

Police were not able to locate the suspect either. Still, Nguyen said there was some good fortune in the incident.

"I'm lucky she didn't shoot me," Nguyen said.
