Elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 2008, served as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee, authoring landmark legislation to protect life and veterans, advanced the 2nd Amendment, and created adoption reform.
Major Laws Passed: Soldier Relief Act – exempted all serving military from state tax, Soldier Credentialing Act – allowed for immediate skill testing for returning veterans
Adoption Reform – tightened loopholes that curbed human trafficking and expanded adoption
Second Amendment Reform – Reduced CCL wait times, stopped veteran discrimination on CCL applications, allowed Career Tech parking CCL, expanded carry laws
