Oil Spill Shuts Down Portland Ave. In SW OKC

Authorities shut down Portland Ave. at SW 149^th St. while Hazmat crews worked to clean up an oil spill in the area, Wednesday night.  

Crews tell News 9 a busted valve is to blame for spilling the oil-like substance into the road. Firefighters arrived on scene and shut the road down from SW 149^th and Portland to one block east while Hazmat cleaned up the scene.

The valve has been repaired, and as of 9 p.m., crews were still cleaning up the scene and the road was still closed. There were no injuries and no problems with fumes.
