An Owasso toddler drowned in a pond early Saturday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. It happened in Oologah where the child wandered off while in the care of his grandmother.

Trooper Gena Gillis said Cutter Emmons, 23 months, was in the yard of a residence in the 11900 block of South 4070 Road with his grandmother. The woman noticed the toddler was missing and found him face down in a pond.

The grandmother got the toddler from the pond and she and her adult son, who had been asleep inside the house, performed CPR.

Cutter Emmons was taken to St. John Hospital in Owasso where he was pronounced dead.
