LAWTON, Oklahoma -

A woman was killed after her car crashed and caught on fire in Lawton early Friday morning.

Just after 2 a.m. Friday, Lawton police responded to the report of a car on fire close to mile marker 33 on Interstate 44.

A gold Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 25-year-old Jessica Gomez, was going northbound on I-44 in the southbound lanes, when it ran off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason.

The car rolled a couple times and came to rest under a bridge, that's when it caught on fire.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under the investigation of Norman police.
