CUSHING, Oklahoma -

Police responded to four reports of auto burglaries in southeast Cushing Tuesday morning.

According to police, the burglaries took place in the area south of Broadway Street and east of Little Avenue. The victims reported to police that their electronics, clothing items and money have been stolen from their vehicles.

Cushing police gave the following tips on how to avoid being a victim of auto burglaries:

  • Lock your vehicle
  • Make sure your windows are rolled up
  • Try to park in areas that are well lit
  • Park in an enclosed garage if you have one
  • Remove valuables such as iPods, cellular telephones, purses, money, etc., from the vehicle

"We have not developed any suspects and a canvass of the immediate area has yielded few leads," said Deputy Chief Tully Folden. "Anyone with information is encouraged to contact us so we can get these recent crimes solved."

If you have been a victim of auto burglary in Cushing, contact Cushing police at (918)-225-1212.

Authorities say you should call police regardless of whether anything was taken or not.
