Court papers reveal baby Nicole was being raised in a house of filth, with cockroaches crawling everywhere and a smell so bad, investigators could hardly stand it.

During Tuesday morning's hearing, Alysha Anderson stood silent as the judge denied her bond and told her she was being held on second degree murder and two counts of child neglect.

Her Husband Miguel Soto also stood silent during his hearing, but at the end told the judge he had a disability that could have been handed down to the baby and caused her death.

Court documents dispute that claim. According to the court affidavit, baby Nicole was born at Southwest Medical Center on March 5 weighing 6 pounds 10 oz, and had no recorded medical issues.

But when baby Nicole was brought back in on June 3, the doctors said she had no pulse and wasn't breathing, and claimed rigor mortis had started to set in.

Doctors said "Nicole Soto died of starvation, and that you could see her frail skeleton through her skin. She was so thin that the skin on her arms and legs were loose and baggy."

Court documents state that when Miguel Soto was told doctors couldn't save his daughter, he cried out, "I killed my baby" and that he admitted to "sometimes not feeding her."

During her police interview, Alysha Anderson reportedly admitted she "smoked marijuana" on almost a "daily basis" and that she wanted to take the baby to the hospital earlier, but never did.

Baby Nicole's 3-year-old brother and 22-month-old sister have been placed in protective custody. Court records show they were dirty and unkempt and that the little girl had a bad diaper rash.

Court records also show the children slept on dirty sheets and there was rotting food in the refrigerator.

Only one baby bottle was found in the home and it was broken.
