Oklahoma State Drops Game 2 To Red Raiders

Oklahoma State gave up a 5-0 lead and was unable to make up the space, falling to the Red Raiders Sunday.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls were unable to hold off the Texas Tech and fell to the Red Raiders 8-4 in the second game of the three-game series.

Sandy James started off the scoring for the Red Raiders, with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to give Tech a 3-0 advantage. In the second inning, Emily Bledsoe singled to the right side, bringing Ashley Hamada and Kermitria Ward home to take a 5-0 lead.

Still leading 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Hamada and Bledsoe hit back-to-back home runs to push the lead to 8-4 in the bottom of the fourth.

Brittany Talley (11-4) was credited with a win for the outing, giving up two earned runs on seven hits and striking out five in her seven innings of service. Simone Freeman (7-10) received a loss, giving up eight earned runs on nine hits in six innings pitched.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls will try to come away with a series win at 4 p.m. Monday against the Red Raiders.
