My 2 Cents: Marine Kicked Out Of Corps For Facebook Post

A Marine has been kicked out of the Corps after nine years of service because of something he posted on Facebook.

It prompted Jim from Newcastle to write and ask me to do MY 2 Cents on it.

He wrote: "This sounds more like Russia then the USA" and "Will anyone who speaks out about or disagrees with the Obama Administration be punished for doing so?"

Well, Jim I don't think you're going to agree with me on this one, because I think the Marine crossed the line and violated Marine Corps rules when he posted derogatory comments about his Commander-in-Chief.

Staff Sgt. Gary Stein will be given an "other than honorable discharge" for posting on a Marine Facebook page "Screw Obama" and that he wouldn't follow orders from him. He has since apologized to the President.

But according to reports Stein made other postings as well that were highly critical and inflammatory about the President, calling him the economic enemy, religious enemy, domestic enemy.

We can't have our Marines undermining the chain of command like that. And they know when they take the oath they're accepting limits on their free speech.

I honor Sgt. Stein's service to our country, and it's disappointing that it had to end like this.
