Firefighters extinguish a house fire located at 264 N.W. 80th Street in Oklahoma City Tuesday morning.

Smoke and flames were visible from the back of the home. According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, a neighbor told firefighters that the homeowner was home. After a search of the home, firefighters determined nobody was home. However, a small dog was found dead inside the burned home.

Fire investigators said the fire started near a mattress in one of the bedrooms. Approximately 30 firefighters battled the blaze. One firefighter did suffer a minor injury to the hand.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire. The damage estimates to the home are not known at this time.
