Police Officer Hits 9-Year-Old Girl In Downtown OKC

A 9-year-old girl was treated by EMSA after being struck by an unmarked police vehicle in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon. A 9-year-old girl was treated by EMSA after being struck by an unmarked police vehicle in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An unmarked police vehicle struck a girl in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon according to a spokeswoman with the police department.

Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow reported the accident happened in front of police headquarters on Colcord Ave. shortly before 2 p.m. 

A 9-year-old girl apparently darted into traffic to return to her mother when she was struck.

The injured girl was treated at the scene by EMSA for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two Oklahoma City Police detectives were in the car and neither was injured.
