MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Oklahoma City RedHawks could muster only four hits and were on the wrong of a pitchers' duel in a 3-1 loss to the Memphis Redbirds Thursday.

The RedHawks (34-47) mustered just four hits all night, and three of them came after the seventh inning. Their only run of the night came in the seventh, when Koby Clemens launched a solo home run that also marked their second hit.

The Redbirds (42-38) started the scoring in the second inning with a two-run home run by Adron Chambers, also on their second hit of the game. That turned out to be all Memphis needed, although it added one more insurance run in the eighth on a solo homer by Nick Stavinoha.

Nick Additon (2-4) turned in an excellent start for the Redbird, despite throwing just 5.1 innings. He only allowed one hit and struck out seven of the 16 batters he retired. Closer Victor Marte was a tad shaky in the ninth, allowing two hits, but he recovered and kept OKC from scoring to earn his 13th save of the year.

Nelson Figueroa (5-4) only lasted 1.2 innings and gave up three hits, one of which was Chambers' home run. After he left, the OKC relievers did their job. Four pitchers combined to pitch the final 6.1 frames, and none of them allowed more than two hits.

The RedHawks now have lost four of their last five games and completed a rough month. They went 11-18 in June and dropped into last place in the South, a full 12 games behind division-leading Round Rock, the team that moved from Oklahoma City after last season.

Oklahoma City will continue its four-game series in Memphis at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
