OKC Woman Accused Of Killing Roommate

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police have arrested a woman on one count of first-degree murder following the death of her roommate.

On Sunday, Feb. 20, police found 56-year-old Larry Knight lying unconscious in the breezeway of his apartment complex at N.E. 27th Street and S. Eastern Ave. He was rushed to the hospital where he died the next morning.

Police said in the morning before Knight was found, he had argued with 55-year-old Denita Uwaifo, a woman who lived with him. Investigators believed Knight sustained severe trauma to his body during that fight.

Uwaifo was originally booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse causing great bodily injury. The charge against her was upgraded to first-degree murder after Knight died.
