McLoud Man Dies After Being Struck By Pickup

A McLoud man died of injuries sustained when he was struck by a pickup while walking along a Pottawatomie County Road earlier this week.

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY -- A McLoud man died of injuries sustained when he was struck by a pickup while walking along a Pottawatomie County Road earlier this week.

Ed Valdez, 34, was hit while walking on the east side of Fishmarket Road, about a mile north of SE 29th Street at about 9:47 p.m. Friday. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Valdez was struck by a pickup that was going northbound on Fishmarket.

The pickup was driven by 67-year-old Carl Hutson, also of McLoud.

The trooper's report indicates that 34-year-old Dominique Valdez was parked facing northbound in the southbound lane with her car lights on when the accident happened
