OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma House has approved a bill that would require more disclosure on a state website of tax credits and who receives them.
The House voted 87-8 on Monday for the changes to the Taxpayer Transparency Act. The bill next will be considered in the Senate.
The measure requires a listing on the state website of the identity of all taxpayers or organizations involved in receiving state tax credits. The information will be searchable and available on the site beginning in 2011.
It also requires purchases made with state money be included in the online database.
Some Republicans who opposed the bill say it did not go far enough in providing all the details of those who receive the tax credits.
