Homeowner Shoots Suspected 2-Time Burglar

MCLOUD, Oklahoma -- Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies were called to a shooting near Captain Creek in Lincoln County Thursday night.

According to police, 30-year-old Jason Dean Cornett was found in the garage of a home by the homeowner. The homeowner went inside to get a gun and could not find Cornett when he came back to the garage.

The deputy that responded to the incident found Cornett hiding beneath a car. Cornett ran, but was soon captured.

A second suspect, Joshua Starkey, escaped but was captured several hours later by Lincoln County deputies after he was shot during an attempted burglary during the evening hours of December 18, 2008.
