People try all sorts of stuff to stay young.  Botox.  Chemical peels.  Plastic surgery.

I've found something much easier, much more affordable, and in my opinion, a helluva lot more fun.  It's called...HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!

Of course, there's nothing magical going on here.  I've still got the same gray hairs (just a few) and the aches and pains that come with getting older (just a little).  I'm talking about the EXPERIENCE.  The smell of the grass, the sound of helmets smacking against each other, the band playing the school song, bratwurst on the grill.  The whole atmosphere full of optimism about the coming season. 

Back in high school, I was in the band.  I had a fantastic time.  But there's a lot of the game that I didn't experience because I was stuck in the stands.  This job I have now allows me to experience so much more of the game that I didn't get to back then.  Walking the sidelines, watching the coaches cheer when there's a good play, and hearing them curse when there's a bad one.  Watching the rowdies in the student section, and letting them go nuts as soon as I point the camera at them.  Talking to the moms and dads up in the stands, proud as heck of their sons and daughters.

It's kind of...timeless.
