It's one thing to want to make an impact in any positive cause, but to put in your time and effort in order to bring about change is a whole other thing.

I told you about Esther Roulston who has made it her mission to bring awareness and raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Her husband Dale has multiple myeloma and says he is alive today (in his 7th year of battling the disease) due to advances that have been made through research. That research is only made possible through funding.

Esther has gone door to door asking her neighbors in her Homestead Edition, asked businesses, even complete strangers to donate to Team Shalom, a team she started in her husband's honor. She raised $6,000 her first year, $37,000 last year and is at $37,000 this year and she says every penny counts. She would love to have more businesses get involved and provide corporate support since it is a tax write off. Here's who's contributed to her campaign.

Team Shalom/L.L.S Donors:

Mike & Christie Sheffield, Edmond

Keith & Shonna Wolf, Subway owner, Edmond

Moshe & Sherri Tal, OKC

"Light the Night Walk" coming up September 20th. It's a great event for the entire family and one of the L.L.S.'s biggest fundraisers. They'll have lighted balloons which make for an impressive sight as well as provide a chance for survivors, patients and the community to come together to support this cause.

You can contact the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for more info.
