EDMOND, Okla. -- An Edmond family is traveling halfway around the world to help their daughter.

Hattie Witherby had five stokes while in the womb which damaged 20 percent of her brain tissue.

The 7-year-old has undergone intensive physical therapy four times at the Peto Institute in Budapest, Hungry. The therapy helps her with basic skills such as walking.

"We're planning our fifth," her mother Jennifer Witherby said. "We go for no less than a month at a time."

The $8,000 a month trips aren't covered by insurance.

"We as parents never want to look back and say we didn't do everything we could," Witherby said. "It's been amazing. They have a great positive, loving atmosphere that we didn't expect."

The Witherbys hold annual golf tournaments. The money made from sponsorships and registration fees all go to Hattie's therapy.

"We kind of look at her as the sky's the limit," Witherby said. "There are no limits as to what she can do and she's proven that to us and everyone else that thought she wasn't going to do much."
