Sworn to uphold the law, a Woodward county law-man is in trouble for allegedly breaking it.

Woodward County Sheriff Leslie Morton faces 20 counts of filing false travel expenses reports according to this grand jury indictment.

According to the charges, for 15 consecutive months between July 2003 and February 2005, Morton filed bogus travel expense reports totaling nearly $10,000.

Along with the charges against Morton, the grand jury is also seeking his permanent removal from office.

A grand jury was put together back in January to investigate how the Woodward County Sheriff was using his car and spending county dollars.

While Morton did turn himself in and was arrested, he is free on a $100,000.
