Oklahoma City on a diet Web site offers updates

Posted: Updated:

A citywide weight-loss goal of a million pounds is very ambitious, and if you check the program's Web site, the city is off to a decent start.

As of today, the Web site lists total pounds lost at about 6,000. Mayor Mick Cornett hopes to lose some weight himself. He tells us the program's main goal is to motivate citizens.

"Obesity takes place everywhere throughout the United States," Cornett said. "Finallym this is a city that is doing something about it; this is a city that is serious."

A local business is using this program to get serious about losing weight.

Check back Wednesday as the News9.com's INSite team has more about this local business and tracks their progress toward helping the city loose one million pounds.
