Miketax Lawson was charged Dec. 11 with drug trafficking, distribution of a controlled and dangerous substance, eluding police and causing a church bus crash that left eight children injured.

Garfield county prosecutors charged Lawson for causing a collision between a police car and a school bus from the Oklahoma Bible Academy in Enid, Okla.

The chase started when Lawson tried to evade police at speeds of more than 100 mph. The police officer in pursuit crashed into the bus through an intersection. Of the 60 kids on board, eight were injured. The police officer was not injured. 

Lawson's next scheduled court appointment is set for January.
