A man was injured after a reported officer-involved shooting in Rogers County on Wednesday evening, according to deputies.
The shooting happened in Chelsea, which is Northeast of Claremore.
It all started with a call about a person with a gun in northern Rogers County, The Sheriff's Office said. A Chelsea officer was nearby and responded to the residential area on Gus Street and found a man with a gun, deputies said. The officer gave the armed man orders to drop the gun, but the man did not comply, deputies said.
It's not clear if the man fired shots or pointed the gun at the officer, but deputies said that the officer did shoot the man. The man went to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, and is expected to recover, deputies said. The officer involved was not injured, The Chelsea Police Chief confirmed.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is now handling the investigation.
