Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers said a Yukon man was killed in a high-speed crash overnight near Interstate 40 and the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

Trooper said they responded to the call around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Kallan Smith, swerved across all lanes of the I-40 service road to the left when he crashed into the barrier wall and then a support pillar. Smith was ejected approximately 20 feet from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, OHP said.

The victim's body has been taken to the state medical examiners officer for further investigation.

The OHP report indicates that Smith did have an odor of alcohol on him.

I-40 eastbound, a mile before the Morgan Road exit was closed while the scene was under investigation, but has since reopened.

This is a developing story.
