If you're on Facebook Wednesday morning, there's a good chance you'll see a photo that's quickly going viral.
The picture is from a local photographer, and it shows three girls who have been struggling with childhood cancer.
When someone says a picture is worth a thousand words, a photo captured by local photographer Lora Scantling is what they're talking about. The caption says, "Sometimes, strength comes in knowing that you are not alone."
In the photo, you can see 3-year-old Rylie on the left who just beat a form of kidney cancer. In the middle is 6-year-old Rheann who is currently fighting a different form of cancer. And on the right is 4-year-old Ainsley who is also putting up a good fight against Leukemia.
The photos are the work of Lora Scantling, who owns Scantling Photography in Bethany. She teamed up with Goodger Photography, Penelope's Children's Boutique and PJ's Boutique. Scantling said when the girls met in the studio to take the pictures, they immediately formed a bond with one another.
Scantling said she's hoping the photos will continue to help bring awareness to childhood cancer. The photos have already been shared by thousands on Facebook and she's received hundreds of messages, thanking her for her work.
