Late Monday night, I got my first look at the ugly shouting match between a Utah Jazz fan and Russell Westbrook.
What was splattered across the internet was video of Russell standing at the end of the Thunder bench shouting obscenities and threatening a fan, and the man's wife as he called the woman sitting with him.
Russell plays with emotion, he's proud, and at times he's mouthy. But I can't recall a time when he started a confrontation during a game I was watching at least, and I've seen a lot of them.
On the flip side, I've seen a lot of idiots in the stands, who think the ticket they bought entitles them to shout abusive language at opposing players, I mean from an arms-length away.
Russell says he was responding to a racial insult. And after seeing the video and interviewing fans in the area, the Jazz decided to ban Shane Keisel from attending Utah Jazz games for the rest of his life.
What does that tell you about the nastiness he was hurling Russell's way.
And here's a shocker, now Keisel is planning to sue Westbrook.
I'm not going to defend Russell's language, I'm sick of hearing the F-Bomb come out of his mouth, but it's time for referees and arena security to start cracking down on loud mouth fans who verbally abuse the players right by the court.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
