POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Oklahoma - Authorities are searching for a suspect after a machete attack in rural Pottawatomie County.

Law enforcement say John Logan attacked his step son with a machete. Law enforcement have searched for the suspect for several hours.

The search began around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night. Law enforcement said when they got to the house they found the suspect's stepson with a deep cut on his head and shoulder.

Officials believe Logan may have been drunk and said he used one or two machetes in the attack. Afterwards, they said Logan took off into the woods.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff said this isn't their first interaction with suspect this week.

"One of our deputies served him yesterday with the emergency protection order; Said he was very belligerent," said Sheriff Booth.

The victim is currently in the hospital.
