Former Tulsa Police Officer Sentenced To 30 Years For Child Sex Crimes

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

A former Tulsa police officer was sentenced to 30 years in prison for asking an 8-year-old girl to send him nude photos.

That girl walked into the courtroom Wednesday, looked at the judge and said Noel McFadden is a monster. She said she was not afraid to see him because she's strong, but she thinks he should spend 1,000 years in prison.

"These children cannot go back and subtract what he has added to their lives," said the victims’ grandmother, Barbara Thompson.

Thompson called her granddaughters heroes for coming forward and admitting their neighbor had done something bad.

"Those are the heroes that stopped this from happening to other children," she said.

A federal judge sentenced McFadden, a former Tulsa Police officer, to 30 years in prison for child sexual exploitation.

McFadden admitted he gave a cell phone to the 8-year-old girl and asked her to take a nude picture.

"He was a retired police officer who portrayed himself as sort of the neighborhood grandfather," Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeff Gallant said.

Others came forward saying McFadden molested them years ago, but it was too late to file charges.

"It just shows it doesn't matter what your profession is or who you are, there's still very sick people out there," said the victims’ mother, Amber Evans.

McFadden had the opportunity to apologize to the children he's hurt, but instead said, “I would like to thank my wife, family, and friends for standing by me through all this. They know the real me, the real truth.”

"'My family and friends know the true me.' Well, I'm not your family and I'm not your friend, but I know the true you," Thompson said.

She said McFadden never once said he was sorry for the lifetime of pain he inflicted on her granddaughters, and other victims as well.

"This life sentence that they were given will outlive the 30 years Mr. McFadden was given today," Thompson said.

The U.S. attorney said the victims are still on their journey from victim to victory, but Wednesday was a big step to the finish line.
