Woman Found Dead In NW Oklahoma City Home
OKLAHOMA CITY - Police are looking for a murder suspect after a woman was discovered dead inside her home Tuesday.
Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Northwest 87th just before noon. A family member found the woman dead inside the home and called police, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
A crime scene was set up around the Northwest Oklahoma City home after officers arrived and found a female victim inside.
“That person has injuries consistent with homicide,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “So, we certainly believe this was someone who was killed by another person.”
Some neighbors said they came out of their homes after hearing a man yell for help.
Officers quickly surrounded the home and investigators went to work searching for clues inside and outside the victim's home.
“It’s confined to the house at this point,” said Knight. “Again, it’s just too soon to know anything else.”
The landlord said he was driving by to check on the home when he saw the crime scene. He said the female victim moved in only a month ago.
Detectives held one person in the back of a squad car but did not identify the person. They said it is still early in the investigation and they need to talk to witnesses to develop suspect information.
“So there have not been any arrests made yet,” said Knight. “Anyone with information we want to hear from them through the homicide tip line.”
Police will release the victim's name and age once they have had a chance to talk to more of her family.
