Oklahoma City just received an EPA grant that will go toward getting properties ready to be redeveloped.
The City isn’t sure which sites the $800,000 EPA Brownfield’s grant will go toward at this time.
The old city jail at the corner of Colcord and Shartel, which needs asbestos removal, is a possibility.
“We have challenging properties in Oklahoma City, due to past uses, and we need partners to make sure we can develop them again,” said OKC Mayor David Holt.
Brownfield’s projects include the Devon Tower, Skirvin Hotel, and the Steelyard Apartments near Bricktown which fully open in July.
