Cameras Capture Suspects Stealing SUV From SW OKC Dealership

Posted: Updated:

Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing an SUV from a car dealership on the southwest side of the metro in early November.

The suspects were caught on surveillance footage from Raul’s Truck & Auto Sales, located near SW 26th Street and S. Walker Avenue, on Nov. 3.

According to the report, a man and woman came to the dealership, where the male asked about selling a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The dealer said he wasn’t interested, but would go outside and have a look.

As the male suspect and the dealer were walking outside, the report states the suspect said he needed to go back inside to grab some paperwork he left behind. A surveillance camera in the office shows the suspect grab a key from the dealer’s desk.

While outside showing the Hyundai, the male suspect hands the female suspect the key he took from the dealer’s desk. The dealer returns to his office briefly, while the female suspect apparently wanders the lot looking for the vehicle to which the key belonged.

Soon the Hyundai drives up into frame and the male suspect steps out and gets inside a black 2010 Cadillac SRX. The dealer realizes what is going on and runs out of the office to try and stop the theft. The suspect refuses to stop, backs the vehicle out and drives off.

If you recognize either suspect, or have any information regarding the stolen vehicle, you are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
