A line of severe storms passed through the state, leaving behind a path of damage. In the Oklahoma City metro area, winds of more than 65 mph were recorded.

Some businesses in northwest Oklahoma City, near Wilshire and Broadway, sustained heavy damage including roof damage and destruction from tree limbs with downed power lines located nearby.

The Red, White, and Boom Festivities in Oklahoma City were more of a bust, as heavy rain and lightning canceled the Philharmonic show and later, the fireworks, too. OKCPD Officers evacuated the area and kept people in some State Fairground buildings for their own safety until the weather cleared.

Strong winds peeled the roof off of Clinton High School.
