An Oklahoma City police officer shot a man who fled a traffic stop on foot early Monday.

Police say Dorles Ellis, 20, took off on foot during a traffic stop. Officer Colton Ellis was called in to assist in the search for the driver. Officer Ellis confronted the suspect in a driveway near 3000 S. Klein. During that time, the suspect was shot by Officer Ellis.

Dorles Ellis was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.  Once he is released from the hospital, Dorles could face charges of possession of controlled substances and disregarding a traffic control device.
