The State Supreme Court agrees with the media that the video of OU running back Joe Mixon's altercation with a female OU student must be made available to the public.
I say it would have been better for everybody including Mixon if it has been released two years ago when it happened.
Here's what you had to say:
Susan says, "The story was told in the medias perspective and they continue to drudge something up that has been taken care of going on two years ago."
From Ed, "It's not about him, or the football team... This dealt with public officials withholding something that was open source"
Diamond writes, "I feel like the truth has been suppressed because he is a local icon."
Bill asks, "I do wonder if we really need to see it, especially since news outlets will play it again and again. What purpose will broadcasting it serve?"
And to that I answer, that viewing the video will allow the public to measure whether the punishment fits the crime.
And Dee says, "I think it will show both sides accurately instead of the media or school spin on it."
Todd writes, "If this happened anywhere else, it would have been released two years ago"
And finally, Judy says there's no good reason to show it, "He has done everything ask of him, made an apology and paid the price. Now it's time to let this young man alone."
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's Your 2 Cents.
