Teachers at Western Oaks Middle School spread the Thanksgiving cheer by feeding almost 100 people on Thursday.

The school hallway was transformed into a Thanksgiving dining hall. Trays and trays of food lined the middle school lockers.

All of the food was donated and cooked by the educators of Western Oaks Middle School.

Principal Meggan Wilson said, “Not only do we want to teach them, but we love them.”

She said this is a way to show appreciation for the students and their families. All families, even people not from the school, were welcomed.

A current freshman, Javen Walker, joined in on the festivities with his family. He wanted to visit his old middle school to spend Thanksgiving with people who have changed his life.

“I wanted to see them again because they all helped me pass the 8th grade,” Walker said.

He described the incredible teachers at the school and wanted to spend Thanksgiving with them.

“They’re all like family to me,” said Walker.

This is their first year hosting the Thanksgiving lunch, and they hope to continue it for years to come.
