3.7 Magnitude Quake Shakes Near Medford

MEDFORD, Oklahoma -

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Medford, Tuesday night.

The quake struck at approximately 8:15 p.m., 12 miles northwest of Medford, at a depth of just less than five miles. The quake was originally reported as being a 4.0 magnitude, but was later revised down. 

So far no damage or injuries have been reported with this quake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes of 4.0 and greater.
