HAMMON, Oklahoma - A statewide manhunt for suspected murderer Michael Vance ended in southwest Oklahoma late Sunday night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says they received a picture of the silver Mitsubishi Eclipse Vance was last known to be driving from a tipster Sunday afternoon just outside of Hammon.

Law enforcement says the public was extremely helpful in finding Vance and identifying the silver Eclipse.

Highway Patrol troopers say the car was discovered by a landowner or hunter nearby covered in brush and parked near a makeshift campsite.

Troopers say Vance left the campsite with the car before authorities arrived.

The last time Vance was seen before Sunday night was in Sayre early Monday morning. Authorities say he may have been hiding out in Hammon for almost a week.
