Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Pursuit In SW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY -

An alleged armed robbery suspect who led police on a brief chase in SW OKC is in custody.

The chase began on the southwest side of the metro, near SW 22nd and Westwood Blvd. 

The suspect, driving in a silver Dodge Magnum, led police around city streets on the southwest side of the metro for about 15 minutes, before heading off-road, near the Stockyards around SW 15th and Agnew., where he eventually cornered himself. The suspect exited the vehicle and started walking toward the officers. He was then tased.

Police have now identified the suspect as 45-year-old Gary Shawn Wood, the man wanted in connection to a shooting in SW OKC, Saturday night.

Wood was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on an arrest warrant for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and charges related to the chase.
