Child Hit By Vehicle In SW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY -

A child was hit by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in southwest Oklahoma City, police said.

The auto-pedestrian crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. near SW 56 and May Avenue. 

A red pickup hit a 4-year-old boy near the intersection while the boy was crossing the street, the boy's older brother told News 9.

The pickup drove away after hitting the boy.

The boy was taken to a hospital. Family said the boy has a broken leg. 

Police said the driver is in police custody but has not been arrested as of 6 p.m.
