SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -

On Sept. 30, Logan Skelton, 8, and his friends were playing in the grass in his neighborhood near Rickey Road and Rose Drive in Shawnee.

Police said a driver hit Logan, pulling him underneath the car and then took off.

“It’s just unbelievable – unbelievable that people can act like that,” Logan’s mom Alma Skelton said.

Soon after, police arrested Roscoe Lynch for the hit-and-run crash and also arrested his passenger Kyle Suneagle.

Police said Lynch had hit a vehicle and left the scene of that crash before hitting Logan.

Logan has third-degree burns on his backside and a broken clavicle, but perhaps what's most painful is the boy who loves football won't get to play for a while.

It is heartbreaking for Logan and his family that this crash has forced him to sidelines this year.

His teammates have made it their mission to lift Logan up.

They went to see him in the hospital and played games in his honor.

Logan: “They won for me!”

News 9: “And what do you think about that?”

Logan: “Awesome."

And his classmates and other community members also paid him a visit.

“When the kids showed up, his face lit up,” Alma said.

They even held a makeshift watch party for the OU/Texas game in the hospital room, so Logan could watch his favorite team play.

Now, a fellow football mom is fundraising for the family, hit with these unexpected medical costs by selling T-shirts that say "Prayers for Logan."
