It took nearly seven months for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's autopsy report to be completed in the case of a body found in an Oklahoma landfill. But DNA evidence finally was able to help investigators identify Geanna Durham’s body.

Now, News 9 has learned the Oklahoma Attorney General's office is reviewing the findings to see if any new criminal charges will be filed.

The Medical Examiner's report states the remains recovered showed no obvious trauma, but was largely skeletonized. For now, the cause and manner of death are undetermined, but the report did state the body tested negative for any drugs.

It goes on to say Geanna's body was discovered confined in a trunk, and was wrapped in a sheet like fabric with a towel partly covering her legs. The report states the trunk had been wrapped in a large fitted bed sheet and comforter.

The body and trunk were recovered from the Spencer Landfill near NE 23rd and Midwest Blvd. on Feb. 9 of this year after police got a call from a DHS worker trying to locate the 15-year-old.

Durham's mother had told investigators she had moved out of state to be with her father in Florida, but that proved to be untrue.

Soon investigators got information that Geanna may be in a storage unit at a facility on Delmar Road. Detectives didn't find her there, but court records show the owner told police he was friends with Geanna's mother, Reshawnda Laney Durham.

Court documents also reveal workers at the storage facility told officers they were asked to clean out one of the storage units - and that a wrapped chest containing bones and skin they believed to be human was found. But they were told by the owner to throw the trunk in the dumpster. And that's how it ended up at the Spencer landfill.

Geanna's body remains at the Medical Examiner's office.

Currently, Reshawnda Durham is in the Oklahoma county jail facing three felony counts of child neglect and for contempt of court. But so far no murder charges have been filed against her or anyone else. At least not yet.
