My 2 Cents: Wrong Game Winning Call In OSU Game Should Be Fixed

If we make a mistake here at News 9, we correct it as soon as we learn of it.

If your bank gets your balance wrong, they fix it as soon as the mistake is discovered.

A builder will tear out a wall if it's not done how the plans spell out even if it's days later.

But when referees get it wrong, if it's not recognized immediately well too bad.

At the risk of sounding like a bitter OSU fan, which I am, let me say that's just stupid. It's a GAME, fix it.

When referees from Central Michigan's MAC conference screwed up and gave the Chippewas an extra play after the game was over, even the Big 12 refs in charge of replay missed it.

Central Michigan won on that last play that should have never happened, and it was discovered before the teams were even in the locker rooms.

You march in there and make it right, tell Central Michigan we screwed up, you lost. Correction made, wall moved.

But an hour after the game, they deemed it too late to change it.

It wasn't Central Michigan's fault, but it was up to them to step up and make it right, and they didn't.

If I'm the Big 12 Commish, I get on the horn call the MAC Commish and tell him you guys forfeit that game or I'll make sure the MAC will never play another Big 12 team.

Not gonna happen, but if ever there was a cut and dried case for changing the winner of a game this was it.
