Since Saturday's now 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit, the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management started working to build a big picture of the damage.

Deputy Director Michelann Ooten said this was the first disaster since the state launched its photo friendly emergency mobile app called “OK Emergency”. It allows users to take a picture of damage with their phone, and send the image with a few details directly to emergency managers.

But so far, they've only gotten 11 submissions from the entire state through the app, and they believe there is more out there.

“As we gather all that information, then we look to see how this is going to qualify possibly for any kind of federal assistance or any other assistance,” said Ooten.

OK Emergency also keeps the user updated on the emergency situation unfolding and provides preparedness messages to get residents ready for the next time any disaster strikes in Oklahoma.

Emergency managers also encourage everyone to register and take part in the “Great Shakeout”, a multi-state earthquake drill happening in October.
