Residents in the Deer Creek and Piedmont school districts passed four school bonds Tuesday evening.
In Deer Creek Public Schools, residents passed both the transportation and the construction bonds. School officials said the rising student population in the district has resulted in the need for two new elementary schools and additional classrooms to existing buildings.

Residents passed a $165,395,000 construction bond with 74 percent of the vote and passed the $5,650,000 transportation bond with 74 percent of the vote.
Piedmont school officials also cited student population growth for the need to pass school bonds.
School officials said the district saw its highest pre-k enrollment numbers, and for the first time, some even had to be turned away because there wasn’t room.

The construction bond will pay for a new early childhood center with 36 classrooms for pre-k and kindergarten all on one site, freeing up space in other schools.
Also, part of the construction bond is slated to be used at the high school for additional classrooms, safe rooms and science labs.
Voters passed the $1 million transportation bond was passed with 76 percent of the vote. The $70,690,000 construction bond was passed with 74 percent of the vote.
